Customer Identification Requirements

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

Beginning with their interview, we stress confidentiality to our employees. We remind them regularly of this obligation. The sensitivity of your financial information makes employee misuse a very serious matter which can result in their termination.

Byron Bank chooses vendors and service companies that assist us in providing quality products and services to you. In these cases they only have access to your name and address, not to any personal information. We are very strict with the companies we choose. They are not permitted to release, use for other purposes, or sell this information. Byron Bank does not sell customer information to outside parties. Also, realize that when you get a mortgage it is filed with the county and it becomes public knowledge. There may be occasions when we are legally required to disclose information about you such as for a subpoena, to prevent fraud, or to comply with a governmental agency.

We always strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. However, we are human and errors can occur.
