Byron Bank Welcomes Maryjo Pirages Reynolds to its Board of Directors

BYRON, ILLINOIS, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 – Byron Bank is pleased to announce Maryjo Pirages Reynolds has accepted a position on the bank’s Board of Directors beginning June of 2022.

Maryjo is a highly respected attorney and partner with Allen Galluzzo Hevrin Leake, LLC in Rockford. She was a “40 under 40” recipient from the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and was also named “Next Up” Young Leader by the Rockford Register Star in 2019. She has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Illinois Courts. Maryjo was selected by her peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Labor and Employment Law. Her areas of expertise are in Labor & Employment, Business & Commercial Transactions, Immigration and Estate Planning and Wealth Preservation.

Previously she served on the Rockford Area Crime Stoppers Board and the Davis Park Task Force, was President of the Winnebago County Young Lawyers’ Association, and regularly volunteered with Transform Rockford and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Rockford Chamber of Commerce Program and a proud wife and mom.

STUFF-A-BUS CAMPAIGN DEMONSTRATES LOCAL BANKS’ CARING SPIRIT

BYRON, ILLINOIS, July 11, 2022 – Byron Bank’s annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign exists to help students have a strong start to the school year. Having a backpack full of much-needed school supplies is essential to help prepare students for success.

“Every donation will make a positive difference in the lives of these children,” says Byron Bank President, Brent Baker. “Schools are a vital part of our communities and as a local community bank, we are proud to be able to give back and help our schools in any way we can.”

Items that are most needed are backpacks, crayons, dry erase markers, scissors, spiral notebooks, 1-inch binders, index cards, ear buds or headphones, hygiene kits, and #2 pencils. All supplies donated will be delivered directly to the Byron School District, Meridian School District, and District 100 in Belvidere and distributed by school staff.

“Byron Bank has had great success with our Stuff-A-Bus campaign,” says Byron Bank Marketing Manager, Samantha Ciaccio. “We are thrilled to have a wonderful outpouring of support from our communities.”

BYRON BANK TO COLLECT PEANUT BUTTER FOR ROCK RIVER VALLEY PANTRY

BYRON, ILLINOIS, April 28, 2022 - It’s time for the Rock River Valley Pantry’s Peanut Butter Rally, and Byron Bank is collecting peanut butter at their Byron, Davis Junction and Poplar Grove locations beginning May 2 to May 28, 2022.

“During the summer months when kids are out of school, the Rock River Valley Pantry is an important organization for families in need to help feed their children,” says Byron Bank President, Brent Baker. “We believe in giving back to our communities and Byron Bank is proud to support the Rock River Valley Pantry.”

Rock River Valley Pantry’s goal is to collect 20,000 jars of peanut butter. Please help Byron Bank collect this protein-rich staple and let’s all help feed hungry children in need this summer.

The “Zelle® Scam” is Spreading Quickly Across the U.S. and Scammers are Spoofing our Phone Number

Scammers are spoofing our phone number! Byron Bank does not call late at night, and we do not call and ask for your online banking credentials. If something doesn’t seem right, hang up immediately and call Byron Bank using the phone number on our website. Ask for the individual you were speaking with to confirm it is a valid Byron Bank employee and not a scammer.

Also, keep these tips in mind:

  • Refunds are not issued through Zelle®. If somebody calls you and offers refunds via Zelle®, hang up the phone and call Byron Bank.
  • Byron Bank will never call you to request information you received via text (SMS)
  • Don’t provide your account number or personal information via email or text.
  • Don’t trust caller ID; Caller ID may be modified to show Byron Bank’s name.
  • Don’t feel pressured to provide information immediately in response to requests via text, email or phone. Using the phone number on our website, reach out to Byron Bank to confirm that the request is legitimate.
  • Don’t give information over the phone if you receive a call stating that a transaction is canceled, even if the caller claims to be from Byron Bank. Once again, contact Byron Bank, using the phone number on our website, to inquire about the transaction.
  • Don’t click on links in unsolicited emails or texts.
  • Don’t give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer.

Zelle® users should be aware that they could become targets as the scam continues to spread. Those who respond to a fraud text and then get a phone call, allegedly from Byron Bank, should hang up immediately and call Byron Bank, using the phone number on our website, and ask if the fraud alert is real.

BYRON BANK TO HONOR VETERANS & ACTIVE MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS IN NOVEMBER

BYRON, ILLINOIS, October 1, 2021 - In honor of the service and sacrifice our Veterans, active military service members and their families have given, Byron Bank will be hosting a Veterans/Active Military Memorial during the month of November.

“We will be handing out canvases for our community to personalize and create their own memorial and then bring back so we can display them,” says Byron Bank President, Brent Baker. “Byron Bank is a proud community partner and is proud to support all our military Veterans, active military service members and their families Let’s all take a moment to remember the sacrifice of these brave men and women, now and every day.”

Pick up your canvas at any Byron Bank location from October 4 – October 29 during business hours and use your creativity to honor your favorite Veteran or active military service member. We ask that you decorate them in red, white, and blue colors. These beautiful pieces will be combined into a collage to commemorate all those that have served and displayed in the Byron Bank lobby in Byron for the month of November. The community can pick up their art beginning November 29th for you to display or give to your favorite Veteran or active military service member.

Scheduled Digital Banking Maintenance

Byron Bank Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Business Online, Business Mobile Banking, Zelle®, Bill Pay, Mobile Deposit and Telephone Banking will be offline for software upgrades, equipment upgrades, and testing. BYRON BANK ANNOUNCES ANNUAL STUFF-A-BUS EVENT

BYRON, ILLINOIS, July 08, 2021 - Byron Bank is collecting school supplies during their annual Stuff-A-Bus event. BYRON BANK TO CLOSE MINI BANK INSIDE COUNTY MARKET

BYRON, ILLINOIS, October 5, 2020 - As of January 1, 2021, the Byron Bank Mini Bank inside County Market at 201 W. Blackhawk Drive in Byron will permanently close.

“Reflecting on the reality of the current environment with COVID-19 and the option for our customers to utilize our main bank location as well as our digital channels, we made the decision to close the Mini Bank location,” says Byron Bank President Brent Baker. “Byron Bank would like to thank the Cacciatore family and County Market for their commitment and partnership over the years.”

Byron Bank lobby hours at the main bank location, located one block north at 200 N. Walnut Street in Byron, are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. The Byron Bank drive-up and walk-up are open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Wednesday, 8 am to 6 pm on Thursday and Friday, and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.
